Swords Of Urukathek

Sometime I like taking request from people. So I decided to help someone with a request on nexus forum. He wanted someone to help convert CorvaenOboros' Swords Of Urukathek from Dragon Age to Oblivion. While not very complicated, there was a dagger and I had no idea of what size it should have been. I scaled it to what seemed fine, considering everything In Dragon Age is over sized and that dagger looked more like a sword. When I first uploaded it, He found the dagger to be a little too small. So even if I was tired and wanted to be in my bed, I decided to not let him down and make a bigger one. I imported Throttlekity Rapier and scaled the sword to same size. But now it was too big and he asked if I could make a medium one, which I did. I hope he likes it! For the Greatsword, I just used one of the DA:O greatsword I converted a few days ago for size.

Weapons

Easy mod, small post. This was fairly easy since making weapons, except for bows, is surprisingly easy. The mod contain a few Great swords from DA:O and 2 Stave, a Great sword and a great axe from DA2.
All the sword and the axe use Ebony weapons as template. Staves use Staff of Healer and staff of Thunderbolt as template.

They are in a crate in testinghall:

You can download the file here: DAWeapons.7z

Enjoy~

Sebastian Armor

Another port from DA2. This time, Sebastians armor. I actually started with his armor before I worked on chantry Seeker, and wasn't really thinking about releasing it. I was only casually fitting it simply because I had it and though it looked good. Then I thought about how many time I've heard some people say there isn't enough male armors so I decided to post it anyway. I had to work a bit more on it though because it was stretching and clipping in all sort of way. There were also many texture that were flipped inside-out so I took extra time to flip them all in their right direction.

Chantry Outift

A small port I've made two days ago.

This was a pretty easy "fit" since it doesn't really have anything to fit other than placing arms and fingers in the good position. I had problem with the fingers on it when I first tried with bone weight copy script though. It created webbed hands in game, which looked horrible. When I decided to manually weight paint each fingers by myself, everything was looking fine. I think maybe legs are shorter on DA models than they are in Oblivion. Or maybe the knee armor pieces create this illusion but it looks weird sometime when walking or running. Almost like if your character was constipated. Other than that, I find it pretty nice.

Seth Balmore's outfit

I know it's been a while I didn't post anything. I've been working on a lot of smaller, less important things which I will add here in another post later.

I was Browsing a Deviant art account of someone who rip game assets for modding and decided to see if I could convert this amazing looking outfit. Except for a weird texture bug I struggled with for a few hours, everything went pretty well and fast to fit it. Which is surprising since It also came with only one texture file which made things faster. When I started fitting it, I didn't even know what it was from, and I didn't care very much either. I think it's pretty and this is more than enough for me.

Chaos Axes

I really like Guild Wars weapons and I think there's too few of them in Oblivion. People port and replicate items from many other games, but rarely from Guild Wars so I thought I could try doing some weapons. I'm currently slowly working on a hammer but I think I'm over doing the textures so I probably won't release it any time soon. Yesterday I felt like trying something easier first, Chaos axe. If you played Guild Wars, you either loved or hated that axe, loved because it looked shiny and was rare or hated because it looked shiny and was rare. Personally, I loved it but since I never played warrior or melee class that used axes, I never tried getting one. I had one once, I sold it even if it wasn't perfect.

I tried replicating their glow effect but since Oblivion do this in a very weird way, they cannot look exactly like in Guild Wars. Also, you absolutely need to have your HDR enabled to have them glow at all.

Sheva's Fairytale

Sheva's fairytale is probably the most problematic thing I've every worked on for Oblivion so far. I tried so many things with the cape. If it wasn't stretching weirdly, it was staying straight independent of the arms or the rest of the body. I tried to paint it manually, which was disastrous. This was my first conversion from another game and I now realize that this isn't the easiest one either. Not only for the cape but also because of the insane amount of alpha (oblivion hate alpha) and the skirt being easily destroyed when weighted to the legs.

A small hat

I finally got XNALara working! Actually, my brother managed to make it work for me and it was so simple. In XNALara's requirements it said that XNA Framework 3.0 was needed. But since I tried to convert Sims hairs and the program to open Sims package files also require this framework, I already had XNA 3.1 installed. When it didn't work, I tried to upgrade to 4.0 because I thought a newer version would be better. Unfortunately, upgrading did not work either. Everytime I tried to open XNALara, It was closing itself right away. Even faster than when Oblivion crash on start. My brother came visit me Wednesday and he asked me if he could try to uninstall the 4.0 and install 3.0 instead since this is what the requirement asked for. And it worked! Just like that. I feel so stupid for not thinking of that.

Duelist of the Eastern Seas

As soon as Fizz released the DA2 Threads of the Eastern Seas outfit, I fell in love with it but I felt heartbroken between that new outfit and Tona's Air Lily. At first I thought about using parts of it and add them on Air Lily but there wasn't much I could do and actually didn't look quite like I had hoped. So I decided to do the opposite and put the breast plate of Air Lily over the DA2 armor.

I also added gloves from Tona's simple dress, harness from Ryk's Athol Brose and some hot pants from Yoko's outfit from fallout 3 since i didn't quite like the small panties. The actual outfit is fitted to TGND but it is unusable without the breast plate because I had to destroy part of it to make fit it under without clipping or making the plate too big. I still have a copy of the undestroyed DA2 outfit for TGND which I'll post when I fix some small clipping issue on it; Even though TGND isn't very popular.

Sylvari Final

I created a Sylvari folder on my mediafire and instead of just transferring old files into it I thought it would be good to package a final version. Maybe someday I will edit her more but with Skyrim coming, I think I will probably work to bring her there first.

Into this final version I have included the Head06 version I made a few days ago. I did not add the Shivering Island Plugin like in the old one because I couldn't find what was causing the problem with it. It create two race in game, the original one and the one that use head06.

I've also taken the opportunity to change a few thing in the readme. I added quick explanation on how you can add more eyes and hairs to it and I modified the Usage Restriction to prohibit repackaging and the hosting or hot linking to it. Although it is nothing very restrictive and shouldn't affect you, with the recent issue of a certain website that I wont name here, I prefer not taking chances.

For the Explorer in you

I was following a Skyrim thread on /v/ which quickly degenerated into how Bethesda are dumbing down the game. It eventually became a dispute over the compass, or "Magical Compass", that show undiscovered location and a green arrow pointing in the right direction.
An anon linked to a mod that supposedly remove the compass altogether. I had a mod that did that a while ago, but I uninstalled it because It removed the compass completely and I like knowing what direction I'm heading to. Another anon was complaining, almost crying even, that It was impossible to complete quests without the compass because it removes the markers on the map, which is false, at least for the mod I used. I Installed the mod back to prove him it was still possible to use the map and It got me thinking that I still wish I could remove the icons and arrow from the compass but keep the actual compass.
After about two hours of searching in xml files, comparing two mods and Darnui and trying many different things (I'm very bad with scripts) I finally found out how to get the exact result I wanted.

Screensots 2

I decided to use imgur for a while and see how it is. So far I kind of love its speed and UI but I think the thumbnail option is lacking. I can either have huge thumbnails or extremely small one.

Anyway, Here's my most recent screenshots. I don't have a lot of them because I didn't play very much in the last few days. But I started to use OBGE's Bokeh Circle DOF, Thanks to Eiries, and It makes a pretty big difference when compared to Crysis DOF.

Image host

It looks like the image host I'm using decided to be assholes. They started to delete random images in my account for no apparent reasons. Most of them were images of Oblivion. This is very problematic as I now have to find a new image host website that wont delete my images and re link them everywhere I linked to them. Some here, other in forums. I've sent Postimage an email explaining that I quit their service for another one because my images where being deleted.

I will have to find a good image host that allow outside linking and then changelinks everywhere. I'm currently thinking about tinypic, imgur or Flickr.

Sheva Fairytale Update

I am still working on Sheva Fairytale outfit in spare time but it is starting to giving me headache. The problem is with the weighting of the cape. Well, no so much the weighting it self as its behaviour in game. The skirt is also a bit problematic. It stretch if I weight it to the legs, which make it look horrible, but if i don't, legs go through it whenever I go in stealth.
I thought about ditching the cape and hood all together, but they are a full part of this outfit. without it, it wont look the same anymore. So maybe I will leave it but make it a separated item so it can be equipped or not. Currently the cape looks very good with stretched arms, but it clip when in other positions and having your arms stretched out basically never happen unless you use a pose that do it.

Sylvari Head06 (EDIT)

Two days Ago I decided to try out what would my sylvari look with head06. It all started because of these screenshot I had taken.

I felt her chin was too wide, even though it's very thin. So i decided to spend some time trying out Head06 since I kinda love that head.
Her facegen worked surprisingly well even if she looked a bit derpy at first; but it was nothing that couldn't be fixed.

Sheva Fairytale

Recently on /v/ there was someone who pointed to a deviantart page with some 3d model taken from other games and hoped that someone be able to port it to Oblivion. I told that anon that fitting it to the body wasn't very hard and that I could do that in a matter of a few hours or days, depending on the state of the original model but that exporting would probably be another story.

Pentagram

My favorite witch dress is definitely the Demiwitch found in Desuchan's store Abbotsford. But, while it looks good, I didn't think the cross necklace was "witchy" enough.

DSK Pose Image Update

I got DSK Pose 1.4 so I can update from my last post.
I finally found where it came from. I don't know why I couldn't find it before because just searching for DSKPose on google sent me in the right direction. and my DSKPose 1.3 was found on a totally different website.

It's from a Japanese who's blog is right here http://indy1211.blog105.fc2.com/

Small fix for the Sylvari race

EDIT: This is not needed anymore so I deleted the file.

I was checking something earlier today and found out the the head I packed with the sylvari is not the right one. There are added part to it that were used for a test. This file fix this with the proper head.

Note that if you downloaded the Sylvari before July, You probably don't need this, but it wont break anything if you get it anyway.

Twig Horns

Yesterday I was making a sylvari and decided to play with the tone slider to see what it would looks like. It happened to look very good. But it was missing something.
when I fist made the race, I wanted to give her horns or antlers, but I couldn't find any good one. But As i was browsing my mesh folder, I found a branch or it was a root I don't remember. I decided to try to make horns with it.

I like the result so I decided to share it.

FFT Archer Armor

I spent last night retexturing Ran's FFT Archer Armor.
While I don't think it's one of the best looking armor out there, I was fun to do.

Normally I would only include the textures, but the mesh also had a lot of glossiness, so I reduced it and repacked the full mod.

The armor is in a sack at the top of the monument in the middle of talos plaza.

You can download it here.

Dungeon Explorer For TGND

While writing the last post, I went through my screenshots and remembered that I edited Eiries' Dungeon explorer for the TGND body. I wanted to upload it but I forgot about it because I jumped on new project right away.

You will need the original mod and install this one over it. And as always, Read the Readme.

You can download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?7xb7m0mr2vzp0dn

Screenshots

Sometime when I play Oblivion, I get to a place and I just feel like I don't want to leave it. As if the game suddenly become less important than that particular place. I'm currently playing with Unique Landscape Compilation for the first time and this now happen almost every time I play the game.

With OBGEv3, it makes everything even better. Before that I had to imagine how it could look after going through Photoshop. Now I have it look good directly.

When taking screenshot of their characters, most people just do take a screenshot of their characters. While I do that sometime too, I love making scene with them.

Sylvari in Oblivion

I wanted to test texturing characters in Oblivion. And so, I got the idea of making a Sylvari. The race is actually a Lop-ear elf with HGEC body mesh. All i did was to edit the texture file using Photoshop To make it fit my character.

Even if I've got a few requests to release it, I don't plan to. The skin texture do not fit on different face and body. Everything was built on this particular character. Also, The texture is very amateurish as I don't know how to do UV Mapping. So I just edited an existing texture and tried my best to reduce seams to the minimum. The character itself is also very much edited and relies on about 5 different mods.

You can get the mod here: http://haishao.blogspot.com/2011/09/sylvari-final.html

I don't use this character anymore. I never really did either. I played for the time I was creating her. Then I used her for taking a few screenshots and now that's all she is, screenshots.
